I resently cut down a large basswood tree on my lot. I would like to carve a loon out of it. I intend to antique it so if it checks a little I don't care, but it is very wet and I would like to know if anyone knows of a easy fast way to get some of the moisture out. The chunk of log is 6x8x24 inches. Thanks
